ββοΈοΈπŸ’«We are super proud of our mixed doubles teams who competed in the Dorset League on both days last weekend. Saturday was away to East Dorset and Sunday home to St Sebastian and our fantastic members beat both teams. They are now at the top of their division and have already been promoted for the summer tournaments. Great tennis πŸ†πŸŽΎπŸŽΎπŸŽΎ ... See MoreSee Less

SPRING TERM is here and all junior courses and adult groups have now started. Don't forget to ensure your child's place on your chosen course you must book and pay online as soon as possible.

Also a huge well done to our Ladies team currently competing in the Southampton LTA league for their win in rather chilly conditions away to Romsey.πŸ†πŸŽΎπŸŽΎπŸŽΎπŸ’–

We have some very sad news to share with you all.

As some of you are may be aware, one of our keenest past members, Louise Pope, died peacefully on the 27th December surrounded by her family. Although Louise had been ill for some time, this was still a great shock, especially for those of us who had been playing tennis with her as recently as November. In the end, Louise was taken from us much sooner than anybody anticipated.

Louise was simply a lovely person. Her friendship, kindness and delightfully sunny nature, as well as her hard hitting and dogged determination on the court, will be greatly missed. Many of you will remember how hard you had to fight to win a match against Louise. She never gave up and came victoriously through many hard battles. Of course just the sort of player you want as your doubles partner. Louise played tennis at Lymington Tennis Club for many years, along with her children, Cameron and Izzi. Louise loved everything about tennis and captained the ladies' team until she moved away. She carried on playing when she moved to Brighton about 3 years ago and made a huge impact on her tennis club there.

Louise's funeral will be held in at Hinton Park Woodland Burial Ground later this month. Only family flowers are requested but please do make a donation to Macmillan in her name if you would like to. Our thoughts are with Jamie, Izzi and Cameron at this time.

Life is short so make the most of every minute.

This has very kindly been written by long term member and Louise's friend, Susannah McLean with Jamie's approval.

πŸŽ„πŸŽΎπŸŽ‰πŸ†A great evening was had by all for our advanced adult member's fun Christmas tournament followed by quiz night. As you can see our members decided a BYO night was a fitting way to celebrate and as we don't serve alcohol some of them found novel ways of opening bottles using an array of racket re-stringing tools!!! Congratulations to Lucinda for winning the tennis and to team Truell for winning the quiz. πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸ†
